About the Campus Map
The current campus map uses the Google Maps API. Map details (including building footprints, roads, fields, bodies of water, etc) are stored in a geo-spatially referenced database and JPEG images are programmatically produced from the database.
How to Use the Map
Since these maps are based on the Google maps and are draggable, you can use your mouse or the directional arrows to pan left, right, up and down to see areas that are hidden offscreen. You can also use the slider to zoom in and zoom out.
Single-clicking on a map feature (such as a building or body of water) will open an info bubble that will include the feature name, building number (where applicable) and a web site for more information (where applicable).
Use the campus map to search for a building or other map feature. You can search for a partial name (i.e. "Broward") or an abbreviation ("CBD") with results for each matching location appearing on the left side of the page. Click on the link to center and zoom to that location.
Link to the Map
To create a link to the campus map that is centered and zoomed on a particular building use the following URL as a guide: http://campusmap.ufl.edu/?loc=0406&zoom=17. Replace the four digit number with the building number you wish to center and zoom on.
